6 accused convicted in Kathua rape-murder case, one acquitted

The Special Court of Pathankot has convicted 6 out of 7 accused in the Kathua Rape case. The court acquitted an accused. Accompanied by Mastermind Sanjhi Ram, accused Kumar, Assistant Sub Inspector Anand Dutta, 3 policemen Deepak Khajuria, Tilak Raj and Surendra Kumar have been convicted. One accused has been acquitted.

Today, at 2 o'clock the court will pronounce the sentence of these culprits. Keeping this situation in view, strict security arrangements have been made in and around the court.
15 pages of a charge sheet filed

A 15-page charge sheet was filed in this case. According to the charge sheet, on January 10, 2018, an eight-year-old girl was raped in a temple in a village in Kathua district.

About a week later, on January 17, the baby girl's body was found in the forest. According to the police, the baby was kept unconscious for many days by giving drugs and after that, the child was murdered.

It was revealed in the medical report that the child has been gang-raped several times and has been assassinated and killed by stones. After that, gang rape with the girl was a big issue throughout the country on the killing of her.

The Crim branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested eight people in this case including a minor. In April 2018, the Crime Branch filed a charge sheet.
Crime Branch had arrested

Crime Branch had arrested Gram Pradhan Sanjeev Ram, his son Vishal, Kishore Niece and his friend Anand Dutta in this case. In this case, two special police officers Deepak Khajuria and Surendra Verma were also arrested.

Head constable Tilak Raj and SI Anand Dutta were also arrested in connection with allegedly receiving four lakh rupees from Sanjee Ram and destroying important evidence.
